With Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering, you are part of a global production team that makes sure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers. You will support new car project, global development work and running production. We are seeking for a PLC Engineer at Industrialization VCBC within Manufacturing Engineering.
This role is based in Olofström.

What you’ll do

* Follow Electrical/PLC Volvo standards during project.
* Follow up of time and technique within the area of responsibility and project.
* Follow up of end user take over routine to production within the area.
* Coordination with other major activities within the area.
* Commonality follow up and coordination between car plants and central Manufacturing Engineering
* Share knowledge and experience, and offer trainings accordingly, to improve capability and competence of local engineers.
* Maintain good communication within the area and other parts of the organisation.
* Demonstrate personal leadership in support of company business strategies and role model the Volvo Cars Culture.

What do we offer?
Commodity Body Structure is a section within Manufacturing Engineering. We develop and implement quality assured, flexible and effective production systems in the Body shop plants. The section is working cross functionally & project oriented, supporting all Volvo Car Group´s Production Plants and car programs globally. Within the group Subassemblies, we are now looking for a new member working as a Manufacturing Engineer with focus on Virtual Verification. The position is located in Olofström.

What will you do?
As a Virtual Manufacturing Engineer Body, you will be working during the complete Car program, from early phase to implementation in the plant(s). You will be a part of a commodity engineering team and you will contribute to prepare and implement products and manufacturing processes globally, both manual and automated by virtual verification in our simulation environment. You will ensure product and process solutions cross functional within the Manufacturing Engineering organisation, with our Production facilities and with Product Creation (PC). This is done to fulfil the manufacturing attributes and key performances such as quality, line balancing, cost efficiency, environment, flexibility, and change over. Besides project deliveries you will take part of development of methods and tools for next generation production lines.

Do you fit the profile?
The ideal candidate for this position would be a person with good practical and theoretical knowledge about development of new manual or automated manufacturing systems. You are experienced in virtual verification via simulation tools. On top of that we see that you have experience and knowledge about working with 3D manufacturing IT tools.
If you have a M.Sc. in Production or Mechanical Engineering or corresponding professional experience that would be a big benefit. 
Other attributes which we put value in are good interpersonal and collaboration skills as well as being enthusiastic and customer focused. We believe that you are engaged in your work and encourage people that you interact with. You have a strong willingness and ability to drive change and results. Ability to travel within and outside Europe is required as part of the role.
You need to be fluent in English, written and spoken due to our global organisation set up.
Knowledge in Teamcenter and/or Process Designer is meritorious.
